Events

The May Day Fairie Festival at Spoutwood Farm
The May Day Fairie Festival at Spoutwood Farm has long been one of my favorite events. Since long before I decided to quit my day job and do what I love! There is so much to do at the Fairie Fest AND it's all Fairie related! There are artists, costumers, jewelers, food, entertainment, and SO MUCH MORE! There is magic at Spoutwood, come experience it for yourself...

The Maryland Faerie Festival
The Maryland Faerie Festival is new this year (2005)! The Chesapeake Pagan Community is putting together their own Festival with the support and help of Spoutwood Farm. I will be vending there this year and am very excited to be a part of the very 1st annual Maryland Faerie Festival! I can't wait to see you there!

The 1st Annual Maryland Faerie Fest is over- and it was a fabulous time! They had an attendance of over 1,500 paying guests! The site is magical- it has open grassy areas, sloping hills, wooded glens, a hidden magical "Fern Gully"(and if you find it, it may just bring tears to your eyes), and more! There was a labyrith, tea parties, maypole, greenman parade, music, magic, food, ART! All located at the 4H Center in Upper Marlboro, MD! For next year a 2nd day has been added! Check out their site for details- and I'll keep you posted!

Yorkfest
Yorkfest is a very fun and very artsy Art Festival along the banks of the Codourus Creek in Downtown York. Last year I was body painted in front of my store- The Studio at Central Market House, which is 2 blocks from the creek! There are activities all throughout the downtown area as well as the Galleries and Shops in the Arts District having some fun things going on! (like me being turned into living art!) You'll see artists showing and vending their works- from photography and glassblowers to silversmiths and painters- every genre is in attendance! There is a "Chalk Walk" where art students compete by painting GORGEOUS murals on the sidewalk along Market Street. As well as the Yorkarts Gallery having the jurried art exhibit- Brett Greiman, the artist that painted me, won best in show last year-2004.

You may have to do some searching to find info on this site as it looks as if they have not added the current information for 2005. But keep checking back!

This year's (2005) Yorkfest is being held the weekend of August 27th and 28th.

The Mother Earth Harvest Faire
Spoutwood Farm is a MAGICAL, organic, CSA in Glenrock, PA. This year they will be holding the 2nd annual Mother Earth Harvest Faire on October 1st and 2nd. The hours are 10am to 6 pm both days.

The MEHF centers around the Earth and the protection of her. There are groups demonstrating everything from Recycling and Water Conservation to Natural Building and Humanure Composting! They held classroom style learning in 1/2 hour increments on a variety of topics- Yoga, wood types and their uses, The Kinn House, Natural Energy Sources, and MANY MORE!

The artists in the vending area were juried and had to use only natural items in their art! There was food, tons of entertainment, natural craft demos, olde time cooking demos, harvesting veggies, sheep to shawl demos, crafts for the kids, barn dancing!, and SO MUCH MORE! Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as their favorite troll, elf, ogre, nature spirit, etc. It was a great time last year- and this one can only be better- join us!

The dates have changed! Due to a scheduleing conflict the dates of the Mother Earth's Harvest Fair have been changed FROM Oct 15 and 16 TO Oct 1 and 2. Update your calendar! The Harvest Fair is now on OCTOBER 1st and 2nd!

The Labyrinth of Jareth is the ultimate fantasy themed costume ball. It takes place on July 15th, 2006, at the historic Henry Fonda MusicBox Theatre 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028 Check out their website for more info, pictures from previous Balls, and tickets! I'm going to go the first chance I get!

Soap I Love

Jenny's Naturals
I sell Jenny's Natural Soaps in my store at The Studio at Central Market House. They are awesome! She has some of my favorite scents- the Cedar and Sage is of rare quality!

Last night I had run out of my regular facial cleanser, so I used the bar of Jenny's currently in my tub (Sweet Birch, which is unfortunately discontinued). This morning my face is fabulous- I almost went without makeup today! My skin is soft and I have a fantastic color- a glow really- even my dark circles were diminished! That is some feat considering I am a mother of 3 that runs a business and a store- FULL TIME!!

Jenny hand crafts all her soaps and uses all natural ingredients. They are biodegradeable- and they are fabulous! A must have for you and they are great for gifts!

Faerie Magazine

Faerie Magazine
Faerie Magazine is a new publication coming out in March of 2005- and it's about all things FAERIE! The best part for me is that I am a contributing editor! Look for the "How To" Article in each issue- written by Suzen Craver, Melissa Grove, Michele Strine, and me- Andrea Linebaugh!

Ivetta Moore Pressed Flower Art

Ivetta Moore
Ivetta Moore is a local Pressed Flower Artist whose work is currently featured in my shop- The STudio and Art Bar. Her work is amazing- and getting better by leaps and bounds everytime she creates something new!

Posie The Fairy!

Posie the Fairy
Posie the Fairy is a gorgeous and fabulous fairy! She graces the tea parties at many Faerie Festivals- including The Spoutwood Farm May Day Fairie Festival, the MD Faerie Festival, the Rosemary House Fairy Festival, The Studio and Art Bar's Faerie Tea Party- and more- AND she entertains at children's parties! With story telling, wing making, faerie glamour and more! She entertains everyone for hours! Well- I'm sure a visit to her site will tell you more than I could. It is worth the trip to any of these faerie events just to see her!
